Hailing from the Netherlands, Samuel Du Vries was a rising star in the Independent Wrestling Circuit, starting his training at 15, then debuting at the age of 17. He then moved across the world, making a name for himself in the American Independent Wrestling scene. He also took up tattooing to help supplement his income. While on tour, he suffered a career threatening injury and having to retire at the age of 27.
With his life’s passion disrupted, he fell into a depression. He may have had his career as a tattoo artist, but it wasn’t the same to him. The one thing he used to cope with his mental struggles and trauma was gone. He then moved to Bright Falls, Washington for a change of pace and to be closer to family, as he hadn’t seen them in a few years. He had hopes to set up a tattoo shop to get himself going again and even hoped to open his own wrestling school. Despite this, he still battled with his mental health, dealing with loss of self, loss of self worth, which lead into self loathing, self pity, and self destructive tendencies.
One night, in a rare moment of inspiration since his injury, Samuel decided to work on his wrestling gimmick. It felt like a glimmer of hope in making a return to the squared circle. How long did some of the greats make a return? Ten years? There could be hope in ten years time for him to return. No, make that five. Perhaps even four if he started trying to better himself at that moment. It was as if something had overcome him, urging him to continue with his pursuit.
Samuel started to manically research and write, going through his books on the occult to writing promo after promo until it sounded more like a manifesto. The ramblings of a mad man hurting. He even started drawing again. While in the middle of designing new gear, he heard something speak to him, whispering. Telling him to go to the lake. If he went to the lake, he would be healed. He would be able to have everything he wanted and more.

He even started drawing again. While in the middle of designing new gear, he heard something speak to him, whispering. Telling him to go to the lake. If he went to the lake, he would be healed. He would be able to have everything he wanted and more.
So he went to the lake, like a desperate fool. As he got there, what he heard now was different. That he wouldn’t amount to anything, that he was damaged, worthless…not unless he went into it’s waters. Let himself be baptized anew, or what would be left of him in the world?
In true desperation, Samuel let the waters take him, let the lake pull him under. What came out, was wearing his face, and dragged Samuel back out. Then, as Cain did to Abel, smashed Samuel’s head in with a stone and buried him in the lake’s waters. From then on, the imposter would take his place and take over his life.
